In year 1986, Rice registered a season that started perhaps the finest stretch by any receiver in National Football League history.
That season, he caught eighty six passes for a league-leading 1,570 yards. He was also the topper of National Football League in touchdown catches with fifteen. It asterisked the first of eleven straight 1,000-yard seasons for Rice who also registered double-digit receiving touchdown totals in 9 of the next 10 seasons.
